I'm glad you managed to find us here!

If you are a member of the ECeilidh or AllCeilidh newsgroups on the Internet you'll have a good idea of the intended scope of this forum and I believe it would also be entirely suitable for any performing Folk musicians with technical questions and/or expertise to offer, so you're very welcome too if you're wearing that sort of hat!

Hopefully you will like the look and feel of this particular SMF Forum software and the 'skin' (or template) I've modified for use here but please let me know if you experience any strange visual characteristics with your particular computer and browser settings. There may be occasions when I implement new features or update the core software and I try to do this when activity is low — if you find the forum is in Maintenance mode, I will always endeavour to post a covering message on the Home page explaining what is happening. Despite the fact this forum is hosted on a very reliable server (in Dallas, Texas) sometimes there may be difficulties or outages across the 'net that either slow traffic down or stop it altogether — normal service will probably resume quite quickly but I can make no promises!

I hope you will join in with this project to build a very useful resource ...

Prior to this forum going fully live on 25th November 2006 the above was true but for a variety of reasons I have in the last week moved all my accounts to a London Docklands-based server, which has shown major improvements in speed against one located across the pond — costs and lack of facilities here have prevented me looking in the past but all that's changed!

Thanks for joining us here ...
